Journeys of the soul…

buoyancy…

on June 25, 2009

I’m starting to get a glimpse that the way to living life is contrary to everything we have been taught. it is not to be best at something or everything. it is not about winning or losing. it is not about being peaceful or happy, or to be perfect or have everything. its not about excitement or miracles.

the way to living life, is to live it as it is. to enjoy it. to experience this gift, this opportunity of being on this earth, having this lifetime and living it fully, every moment of it possible. to accept, embrace, question and explore everything that comes along.

sometimes, this can make us hung up over ‘living fully’. the neat thing about living fully – is that you will remember the moments you do live fully. when you are fully present for what comes along. the states of mind when you were elsewhere – generally never stays with you – you might as well as have been asleep.

as Rumi says: ‘why should we grieve that we have been sleeping ? we’re groggy but let the guilt go. feel the motions of tenderness around you, the buoyancy’. I love those words.

In life, there are no prizes, no medals. no right or wrong way to live your life. every person’s choices are different, journeys are different. all we can ask of ourselves is to do the best we can in each moment and trust that it will all work out fine. it always does.

with love, S.
